Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Giant Wang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Gardner!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gardner pushes Wang up against the cage in a clinch.
Wang tries to pull guard but Gardner forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Wang stalling in the clinch but Gardner improves position.
Gardner can't get the takedown.

Wang throws a nice looking combination but Gardner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gardner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wang tries to avoid it but Gardner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wang to the ground. Wang escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wang tries to clinch but Gardner is having none of it.
Gardner will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Wang closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wang lands in his opponent's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gardner can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wang shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gardner's guard.

Wang is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Gardner bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wang's guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Wang closes the distance and clinches up with Gardner, looking for a takedown. Wang pushes Gardner against the cage but Gardner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wang throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gardner tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wang is in Gardner's guard.
Wang wants to control from the top but Gardner keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gardner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Giant Wang.
Wang throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Wang throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gardner was covering up waiting for the punch and Wang finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gardner swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Wang shoots in looking for a takedown but Gardner manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wang's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Wang has his foot on Gardner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gardner works his way back into a safe position though.

Gardner shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gardner was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Wang tries to lock up and control but Gardner gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Wang is desperately trying to improve his position but Gardner has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
