Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tarmo Suulas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suulas has chosen Hollywood Undead - Undead as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joe Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Tarmo Suulas!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Suulas or perhaps it was just good defense by Davis which made him look bad.
Davis lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Davis lands a jab to Suulas's midsection.
Suulas tries to clinch
and Davis counters with a good low kick that Suulas was not able to check.
Suulas is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Davis works Suulas's body with a nice hook.

Davis tries to keep at a distance but Suulas has taken the fight into the clinch.
Davis lands a left hand.

Davis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Suulas misses with a body shot
and Davis counters with a nice uppercut.
Suulas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Davis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Suulas somewhat.
Davis keeps the fight on the outside.
Suulas wants to clinch
and Davis counters with a slapping leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Suulas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Davis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Joe Davis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Suulas misses with a hook.
Davis lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Davis throws a hook to the side of Suulas's head but Suulas sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Suulas throws a big shot that misses.
Suulas wants to clinch.

Suulas closes the distance and pushes Davis back into the cage.
A short uppercut from Davis.
Davis misses with a punch to the body.
Davis can't find room to land a body shot as Suulas controls the action.

Suulas breaks the clinch.
Suulas tries to clinch but Davis moves out of range.
Suulas works the jab nicely.
Suulas darts in trying to clinch
and Davis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Davis waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Suulas.
Suulas tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Davis counters with a series of strikes. Suulas will be more careful next time no doubt.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Suulas darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Davis desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Suulas is trying to control. Davis wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Suulas is working for a kimura but Davis is defending it quite comfortably.
Davis gets back to full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Suulas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Davis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Suulas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Davis is keeping the position for now.
Suulas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Suulas trying to control the position from guard on top but Davis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Davis wants to sweep but no luck.
Davis wants to get back to his feet but Suulas is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Suulas wants to get up but he can't break Davis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Davis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Davis seems keen to control Suulas's posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The fighters circle momentarily. Davis darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Suulas listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Davis throws a leg kick that misses.
Davis misses with a leg kick.
Davis feints and then cracks Suulas's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Suulas down.
Suulas goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Joe Davis has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Davis throws the left hand but Suulas avoids the punch easily.
Davis cracks Suulas with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Davis throws a body kick that misses.
Davis scoring well with a low kick there.
Suulas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Davis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Davis throws a quick inside leg kick.
Davis throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Davis stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Suulas moves in looking to clinch but Davis pushes him off.
Davis swats away the attempt to clinch by Suulas.

Suulas has closed the distance and engaged Davis in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Davis will probably get the nod.

Suulas checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Suulas tightens his grip and picks Davis up, before dumping him to the ground. Davis manages to land in guard.
Suulas trying to control but Davis is working from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tarmo Suulas has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Suulas takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Suulas swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Davis keeps the fight on the outside.
Davis connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Suulas's hands.
Suulas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Suulas tries a head kick but it misses.
Suulas takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Suulas on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Davis. Davis obviously looking to wear him down.

Suulas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Davis swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Davis looks to land a combination. Suulas sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Suulas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Davis defends it nicely.

Suulas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davis tries to avoid it but Suulas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davis to the ground. Davis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Suulas.
Suulas walks into a straight right hand from Davis.
Davis uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Davis as Suulas tries to tie him up.

Davis digs a right hand into Suulas's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Suulas's gas tank.

Davis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Suulas moves away.

and Davis counters with a low kick, right behind Suulas 's knee.
Suulas tries to clinch up but Davis circles away and keeps his distance.

Davis thuds a left hand into Suulas's body.
Davis swats away the attempt to clinch by Suulas.
Davis's corner calls for a 1-2. Davis obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Suulas tries to clinch but Davis is having none of it.
Davis does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Davis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Suulas is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Suulas has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Davis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Suulas.
Tarmo Suulas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Davis throws a right and a left that both miss.
Suulas's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Suulas tries to clinch up but Davis circles away and keeps his distance.
Davis leaves Suulas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Davis feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Suulas's calf.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Joe Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tarmo Suulas.
Suulas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Suulas tries to clinch up but Davis circles away and keeps his distance.

Joe Davis showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Davis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
