Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Toni Rajamaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 19 - 1, fighting out of London, Sun Shine! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rajamaki fails to land with a series of punches.
Rajamaki throws a right hand that Shine ducks under and follows up with a left that Shine also avoids with ease. Rajamaki throws a right and a left that Shine avoids nicely. Rajamaki lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Rajamaki throws a right and a left that both miss. Shine lands a jab-cross combination. Rajamaki is trying hard to land a takedown here. Shine sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Shine just misses with a punch to the body.
Rajamaki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Shine slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Rajamaki clinches up with Shine and pushes him back against the cage. Shine using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Rajamaki has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Shine lands a hook that snaps the head of Rajamaki backwards. Shine misses with a hook from the clinch. Shine tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Rajamaki trying to stall but Shine improves his position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Shine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rajamaki swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shine won't allow Rajamaki to sweep him here. Shine seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Rajamaki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sun Shine has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Shine misses with a series of wild punches.
Rajamaki doesn't manage to clinch there - Shine circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shine throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Shine circles away from the clinch attempt.

Rajamaki checks a leg kick nicely. Rajamaki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shine paws at him with a jab and circles away. Shine fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Rajamaki lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shine missing with a left hand there. Rajamaki was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Shine misses with a body kick. Sun Shine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rajamaki moves out of range of the body kick from Shine.
Rajamaki ducks under a wild hook from Shine. Shine throws a shot from downtown. Rajamaki moves away and avoids it. Shine connects with a looping right hand.

Shine connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Shine circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sloppy strikes from Shine. Those never looked like landing. Rajamaki moves into range and clinches up with Shine. Shine is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Shine is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Rajamaki is defending well for now. Shine lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Shine throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Rajamaki is pushing Shine up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rajamaki throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Shine blocks it with crossed arms. Rajamaki blocks the elbow strike.
Still in the clinch, Shine scores with a nice short uppercut. Rajamaki wants to get back to striking at distance but Shine won't allow it.

Rajamaki gets a clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shine tries a knee to the head but Rajamaki blocks it.

Shine throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rajamaki blocks it with crossed arms. A frustrated look appears on Rajamaki's face as he tries to break the clinch. Rajamaki blocks an uppercut.
Rajamaki tries to throw a body punch but Shine avoids it by throwing Rajamaki back against the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rajamaki's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Shine tries to work over Rajamaki's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Rajamaki has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Rajamaki lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Sun Shine will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Rajamaki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shine tries to avoid it but Rajamaki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shine to the ground. Shine escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Shine feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Rajamaki's calf. Shine throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Rajamaki takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Rajamaki looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Shine misses with a looping right. Shine lands a nice hook to Rajamaki's body. Rajamaki takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Sun Shine seems to be getting the better of the standup. Rajamaki is trying to break the clinch but Shine is controlling him. Rajamaki is trying to push Shine away but Shine has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Shine swings wildly with an uppercut but Rajamaki uses good head movement to avoid it. Shine creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Rajamaki's defenses. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Shine just misses with a elbow thrown towards Rajamaki's brow. Shine scores a nice knee to the body.
Shine lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Rajamaki has Shine pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Shine manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Rajamaki pulls guard effortlessly. Shine trying to control the position from guard on top but Rajamaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rajamaki wants to control the position but Shine says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shine wants to take a breather but Rajamaki is having none of it. Rajamaki is looking to control Shine's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rajamaki avoid being mounted? Rajamaki gets full guard. Rajamaki wants to sweep but no luck. Rajamaki keeping moving, preventing Shine from controlling successfully.

That sent Rajamaki stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Shine lands a head kick. Rajamaki smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Rajamaki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shine as he avoids it easily. Shine tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rajamaki was well out of range. Poor timing from Shine. Rajamaki ducks under a wild hook from Shine. Rajamaki drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Rajamaki tries to clinch but Shine is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rajamaki buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

That was a close second round but I would say that Toni Rajamaki will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Shine tries to close the distance and clinch but Rajamaki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Shine throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rajamaki stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Rajamaki moves into the clinch. Shine misses with a body punch.

and Rajamaki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Rajamaki misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shine fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shine lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Rajamaki shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rajamaki showed some decent athleticism there.
Shine is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rajamaki is working for a submission of some sort.
Rajamaki wants to work for an arm triangle but Shine is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rajamaki thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Shine's head. Shine is in trouble now - Rajamaki has advanced to mount! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Shine tries to hold on but Rajamaki postures up. Rajamaki throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Shine because Rajamaki loaded up on that one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shine wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Rajamaki.
Shine is in all sorts of trouble here.
Shine is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
