Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Miquel Mendoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwight Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grant is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Beanie (Mack B****). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant swats away the attempt to clinch by Mendoza.
Mendoza fails to land with a series of punches.
Mendoza cracks Grant with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Mendoza tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Grant shoots in for a double leg but Mendoza sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Grant counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Grant throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mendoza tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Grant is in Mendoza's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Grant wants to pass to mount but Mendoza is defending the position.
