Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Larry Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anders Om (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Larry Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anders Om!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Om shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Johnson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Om tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.
Om trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Om stands and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Johnson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Om looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Om cracks Johnson with an elbow. That is naaassty.


It looks like Larry Johnson has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Om scores with punches from side control.
Om wants to take a breather but Johnson manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Om.
Om wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Om trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Om's guard.
Om controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Om is on top in guard.
Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Om on the ground.
Om pushes down on Johnson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Om thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Om not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Om missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Om throwing shots but Johnson is blocking nicely.
Om thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Johnson's head.
Johnson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Om prevents Johnson from improving his position.
Om throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Johnson is breathing heavily.
Johnson is refusing to be controlled, as Om sits in half guard.

Om sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Johnson defending well though.
Om frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Om working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Om takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson is looking for a sweep. Om is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Om jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Johnson tries a low kick but Om avoids it.
Johnson staying out of range there.
Om misses with a straight right.
Johnson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Om.
Om missing with a left hand there. Johnson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Om misses with a straight right.
Om loads up on a big right hand but Johnson slips the punch.
Johnson avoids the body shot from Om.
Johnson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Om.

Johnson drives through with a takedown into Om's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Om has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Om manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Johnson manages to get himself to full guard.
Om throws a big elbow that misses.
Johnson wants to sweep here but Om controlling him for the moment.
Johnson has Om pulled in close to control his posture.

Om is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well.
Om is trying to control the action in half guard but Johnson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Om might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Johnson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Om keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Om moves nicely into side control.
Om throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Om is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Johnson has escaped the position, nice work there.

Om is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Om thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Johnson on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Anders Om showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Om changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Om manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Johnson throws a leg kick but Om checks it.
Om looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Om tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johnson was well out of range. Poor timing from Om.
Some wild striking there from Om.
Johnson throws a low kick but Om moves out of range easily.
A big left from Om misses.
Jab from Om.

Om swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Johnson motions for Om to come forward. Johnson throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Johnson slips a jab from Om.
Om takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Om slips under a jab.
Om moves out of range of the leg kick from Johnson.
Johnson throws an overhand right that lands on Om's shoulder, as Om tries to avoid the shot.
Om loads up on a big right hand but Johnson slips the punch.
Johnson avoids the body shot from Om.
Om checks a leg kick.

Johnson misses with an attempted mid kick.
Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.
A telegraphed right hand from Om misses the target.
Om waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Johnson.
Om thows a left - swing and a miss!
Johnson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Om.
Johnson tries to score with a low kick but Om moves his leg out of the way.

Johnson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Johnson showed some decent athleticism there.

Om slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Johnson trying to control but Om is working from the bottom.

Johnson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Om works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Om is on top in guard.
Om chips away with some ground and pound.
Om works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Om thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Johnson's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Johnson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Johnson trying to hold on to Om's head to control him but Om postures up.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Larry Johnson.
Well Om has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
