Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roman Dravinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Angerer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roman Dravinski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Angerer!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angerer feints and then cracks Dravinski's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dravinski down.
Dravinski feints a jab promting Angerer to slip. Dravinski then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Angerer slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Josh Angerer has been cut.
Angerer throws a right and a left that Dravinski avoids nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dravinski looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dravinski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Angerer avoids it really well and circles away.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Angerer.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Dravinski is trying to get back to half guard.
Angerer is staying tight to Dravinski's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Dravinski manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Angerer wants to pass to mount but Dravinski is defending the position.
Angerer seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Dravinski is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Angerer wants to pass the guard but Dravinski is defending well.
Dravinski has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Angerer is working away from the top position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dravinski digs a good body shot into Angerer's ribs.
Dravinski swats away the attempt to clinch by Angerer.
Angerer misses with a combination
and Dravinski counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Dravinski is looking to clinch.
Angerer pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Angerer enables Dravinski to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Angerer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Angerer is trying to control the position here. Dravinski has hold of a guillotine from the top though... oh, that looks naaaaasty, will Angerer tap? Yes he will! The fight is all over! Dravinski jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Roman Dravinski!
