Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between DJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jambo Liddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn comes to the cage accompanied by Til I Collapse. Liddel has chosen Jose aldo ko's Brookins ! @2:08 as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, DJ Penn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jambo Liddel! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liddel leaves Penn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Liddel throws a head kick that Penn semi-blocks.
Liddel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Liddel misses with a hook
and Penn makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Nice body kick there by Liddel. Penn looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. A combination from Penn does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddel jabbing away but nothing is landing. Penn circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jambo Liddel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Liddel throws a shot to the body.
A slow jab from Penn misses its intended target. Penn slips a jab from Liddel. Liddel lands with a hook. Penn tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Liddel feints and then cracks Penn's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Penn down. Jambo Liddel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A jab lands there for Liddel. Penn moves out of range of the strikes. Penn takes a jab right on the kisser.
Penn blocks the body kick.
Liddel tries a low kick but Penn avoids it. Penn closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Liddel's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Liddel swivels though and keeps the full guard. Penn sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Liddel's guard. Penn stops Liddel from getting back to his feet.
Liddel works his way to full guard. Good work. Penn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Liddel is keeping the position for now. Penn controls from within his opponent's guard. Penn advances position into side control! Penn swings around for an armbar but Liddel sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Penn's guard. Liddel postures up.
Penn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penn has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Liddel has passed into side control.
Penn manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Liddel is looking to take a break and control but Penn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Liddel is just content to waste time from the top position. Penn takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Liddel wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jambo Liddel will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Penn bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Penn on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Liddel cracks Penn with an open hand slap. Liddel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Liddel is looking to score with low kicks. Penn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Liddel throws out a powerful jab. Liddel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Penn scores with a jab to the head.
Penn looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Liddel wants to stand and escape but Penn is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddel keeping full guard, as Penn tries to pass. Penn trying to control the position from guard on top but Liddel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Penn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Liddel is keeping the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Penn sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Liddel's guard. Penn trying to advance position but Liddel counters by regaining guard. Penn stopping the sweep attempt from Liddel. Penn postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddel wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Penn is now in half guard. Liddel kicks off Penn and gets to his feet. Liddel moves out of range as Penn strikes. Penn lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Liddel throws a hook to the side of Penn's head but Penn sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Liddel swings widly with a right hand
and Liddel takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Penn catches Liddel with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penn fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Liddel avoids it really well and circles away. Nice jab there from Liddel. Liddel looks to score with a jab to the body but Penn is just out of range. Liddel looks to land a body kick but Penn moved away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Jambo Liddel will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Penn waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Liddel. Liddel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Penn.
Penn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Liddel manages to avoid it. Jambo Liddel is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Penn throws a lazy right hand but Liddel sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Liddel connects with a solid leg kick. Penn fails with the takedown. Liddel finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddel swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Penn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Penn slips under a jab. Jab by Liddel. Liddel thows a left - swing and a miss! Liddel throws an overhand right that lands on Penn's shoulder, as Penn tries to avoid the shot. Jambo Liddel is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Jambo Liddel seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Penn fails with the takedown. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Penn is defended easily by Liddel. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for DJ Penn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Liddel lunges at Penn with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Penn's hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddel looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Liddel scores with a jab to the head.
Liddel is looking to chop away at Penn's legs. Penn misses the body punch and Liddel counters with a thumping low kick. Penn looks to land a right hand but Liddel moved out of range. Liddel fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. DJ Penn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Liddel moves in looking to clinch but Penn pushes him off. Nice shot by Liddel. Penn slips under a jab. Liddel moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Liddel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Penn throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Liddel counters with a flying knee. Nice.
And that's the end of the fight! Jambo Liddel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Liddel winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
