Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Geoffrey Roberts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 18 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Spat! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roberts throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Spat throws a nice looking combination but Roberts bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Roberts throws a sloppy head kick and Spat counters with a nice double leg into guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Roberts is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Spat defends well. Spat not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Spat passes Roberts's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Spat controlling the action here. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Roberts is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Spat scores with a couple of nice shots. Roberts is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spat is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Roberts has managed to free his arm - good work. Spat with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Spat is looking for a kimura but Roberts is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Spat to get the leverage. Spat tries to pass to full mount but Roberts defends it. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Spat lands a nice short elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spat controlling the action here. Spat lands strikes from half guard. Spat not doing much here.

Jack Spat has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Roberts fails with a takedown attempt. Spat misses with a few strikes there.
Spat blocks a head kick by Roberts.
Spat rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Roberts moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Roberts doesn't succeed with the takedown and Spat decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Roberts's guard. Spat is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Spat pushes down on Roberts's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Spat controlling the pace. Spat moves into full mount! Roberts won't be happy about that! Spat tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. It looks like Spat might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Spat dominated that round. The cut man is working on Geoffrey Roberts's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Spat closes the distance and clinches. Roberts is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Spat to keep the fight standing. Roberts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Spat escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Geoffrey Roberts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roberts gets caught napping as Spat dives in and scores a takedown. Roberts manages to retain guard. Spat is stalling in the full guard. Let's hope that Spat has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Spat postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spat slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jack Spat was stalling too much, according to the referee. Roberts throws a sloppy head kick and Spat moves out of range easily. Roberts gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Spat counters with a series of strikes that sends Roberts to the canvas! Spat follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Spat drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Spat seems to have locked his on tight now - Roberts screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Spat, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Jack Spat! Jack Spat decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
