3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diego Brandao! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hinkley shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Hinkley trying to control the pace. Brandao looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Hinkley is figuring out what he wants to do next. Brandao looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Brandao looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Hinkley looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Hinkley working over Brandao with some ground and pound. Brandao looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brandao looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Brandao looking for submissions off his back. Hinkley moves nicely into side control. Hinkley lands some shots froms side control. Brandao is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hinkley decides to stand back up. Hinkley looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Brandao working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hinkley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Brandao is tightening it up a little... Hinkley has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Hinkley reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Hinkley taps out! Nice BJJ there by Brandao!
