Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Harvath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dirk Harvath! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michael Martin! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harvath throws a low kick but Martin moves out of range easily. Harvath swings away with a leg kick that misses. Martin throws a solid leg kick but Harvath takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Martin. Martin throws a series of punches but Harvath avoids them all with ease. Harvath throws out a leg kick but Martin moves out of range and Harvath only half commits. Good work by Martin as he checks the leg kick. Oooooh!!! Martin has knocked Harvath down with a huge combo! Martin steps away and waves a wobbly Harvath back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Dirk Harvath has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Martin throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Harvath on the side of the head. A head kick misses from Harvath. Martin thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Harvath if he has to take too many more of those.
Martin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Martin connects with a good right hand that stumbles Harvath. Harvath circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Martin throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Harvath is looking to score with low kicks. Harvath throws a front kick aimed at Martin's knee but Martin avoids it well. Harvath moves out of range as Martin strikes. Martin lands an overhand right. Harvath on the wrong end of a nice hook. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Martin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Harvath motions for Martin to come forward. Harvath throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Martin getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Harvath wants to slow Martin down by chopping away at his legs. Harvath throws a nice inside leg kick. Martin turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Martin scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

and Harvath counters with a low kick, right behind Martin 's knee. An inside leg kick lands from Harvath. Martin scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Martin on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Harvath. Harvath obviously looking to wear him down.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin cracks Harvath with a right hand to the side of the head. A solid leg kick lands there for Harvath.

Martin checks a low kick from Harvath. Martin is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Harvath had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Martin fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Martin swings widly with a right hand
and Harvath counters with a leg kick. Martin feints and then cracks Harvath's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Harvath down. Martin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Martin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Martin avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Martin misses with a wild combination.
Martin swings and misses with a shot to the body and Harvath counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Harvath takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Martin looks to throw the jab but Harvath is out of range. Martin moves out of range of the leg kick from Harvath. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Martin works the jab nicely. Harvath blocks a jab. Martin's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Harvath walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Martin checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Martin dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Martin throws a sloppy head kick and Harvath counters with a big head kick but Martin shrugs it off. Martin lands a jab to the nose. Martin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Harvath.
Martin tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Harvath misses with a low kick. Martin misses with a right hand and Harvath counters with a head kick. That will keep Martin thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Martin throws a looping overhand right but Harvath ducks down to avoid it. Harvath moves out of range of the body kick from Martin.
Harvath is looking to chop away at Martin's legs. Martin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Martin misses with a head kick.
Harvath feints a jab promting Martin to slip. Harvath then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Martin slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Martin is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Martin misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Harvath counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Martin thinking. Martin is still on wobbly legs! Can Harvath finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin is aggressively charging in as Harvath backs up avoiding any damage. Harvath tosses out a jab and Martin runs right into it face first! Martin is out cold! Harvath dropped down on all fours and is barking in Martin's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
