Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Diego Alonso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Muhammad Ariffin!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alonso shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ariffin pinned against the cage. Ariffin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Alonso throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ariffin slips a jab and a cross from Alonso.
Ariffin throws a nice outside leg kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Alonso.
Alonso could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Alonso swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ariffin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ariffin shoots for a double leg takedown but Alonso sprawls well. He's pushed Ariffin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Alonso shoots in looking for a takedown but Ariffin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Alonso's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Alonso misses with a takedown attempt - Ariffin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ariffin tries for a takedown but Alonso sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ariffin slaps away a takedown attempt from Alonso, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Alonso avoids a punch combination nicely.

Ariffin looks to land a combination but Alonso avoids it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alonso tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Alonso tries to score a body lock takedown but Ariffin shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Muhammad Ariffin dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Alonso shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ariffin as he jumps to the side.

Ariffin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Ariffin has taken the fight to the clinch.
Alonso escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ariffin keeps the fight on the outside.
Diego Alonso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alonso fails to land with a series of punches.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ariffin lands a lovely overhand right.
Ariffin lands a hook that stumbles Alonso back into the cage. Ariffin follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Alonso to the canvas! Ariffin pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Alonso has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
