The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John Wayne leaves Lloyd with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
John Wayne throws a right hand that Lloyd ducks under and follows up with a left that Lloyd also avoids with ease.
John Wayne lands a nice looking body shot.
Lloyd shoots in but no luck this time.
John Wayne shoots for a takedown but Lloyd saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lloyd defends well against a solid takedown attempt from John Wayne.
Lloyd tries to score a power double leg takedown but John Wayne sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lloyd somewhat.

Lloyd fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. John Wayne sprawls well initially but Lloyd persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Jay Lloyd will probably get the nod.

John Wayne gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lloyd to score an easy takedown into full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lloyd accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jay Lloyd overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
John Wayne stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lloyd swivels though and keeps the full guard.
John Wayne throws a strike but Lloyd rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

John Wayne is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lloyd's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lloyd's back!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lloyd is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

John Wayne goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Lloyd escapes and is now in half guard on top.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jay Lloyd.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lloyd, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
