Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Soul Taker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taker's entrance music is Bleed it out. A fine choice. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Soul Taker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick Alves!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Taker.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Taker enables Alves to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Taker manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Alves postures up in Taker's guard and throws a big left but Taker blocks it.
Alves trying to control but Taker is working from the bottom.
Taker trying to control the position.
Alves works over Taker with some ground and pound from guard.
Alves stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Taker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Alves throwing strikes but missing.
Taker is looking to stand up but Alves isn't so interested in that idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Taker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Alves gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Alves is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Alves pushing down on Taker's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Alves in particular looking to stall.
Alves not landing any meaningful shots this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alves seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Alves is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Alves thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Taker's head.

Taker is trying to control but Alves passes into side control!

Alves has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Alves clinches with his opponent.
Taker wants to get back to striking at distance but Alves won't allow it.
Alves keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Taker's efforts to push away.
Taker tries to circle away but Alves has him pinned against the cage.
Alves tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Alves is trying to pull guard but Taker has him pressed against the cage.

Taker breaks from the clinch.
Alves dodges the punch combination from Taker.
Taker tests Alves's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alves is defended easily by Taker.

Alves gets a double leg takedown into Taker's guard.
Taker avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Taker trying to control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alves in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Alves scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Taker working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Alves.

Alves thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Taker throws a push kick but Alves slaps the foot to one side.
Taker connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Alves looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Taker!

Alves is landing with some decent strikes but Taker is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Taker is trying to reverse the position but instead Alves has taken his back - oops!
Taker rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alves postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Taker to stand up.

Alves's jab looks to have found its range, popping Taker under the eye.
Taker shoots for a double leg takedown but Alves sprawls well. He's pushed Taker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Taker checks a leg kick.
Alves shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Taker pinned against the cage. Taker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Alves counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Alves.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Taker is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Alves gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Soul Taker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Taker goes for a takedown in the clinch but Alves prevents it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Alves gets control of Taker's arms and successfully pulls guard. Alves will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Alves lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Taker!
Alves content just to control the position here.

Alves is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Taker is surviving well by controlling Alves's body position as best he can.
Taker can't escape the position.

Alves goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Taker is on top in guard.
Alves is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Taker preventing the sweep.
Taker cracks Alves with a solid left hand.
Taker loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Taker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Alves works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Taker shoots for a takedown but Alves saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Alves showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

and Alves counters with a single leg into guard. Taker didn't expect that.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Nick Alves hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Taker throws a right and a left that both miss.
Alves slaps away a takedown attempt from Taker, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Alves closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Taker did well to prevent Alves getting side control.
Alves performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Alves is looking for a kimura but Taker is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Alves to get the leverage.
Alves is keen to just control but Taker is a slippery customer.
Alves trying to pass the guard but Taker defending well.
Alves throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Alves works his way into full mount!
Alves lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Taker is looking to get to half guard.

Alves looking for a guillotine from mount but Taker is having none of it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Taker takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Taker is trying to escape the mount.
Alves tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Taker is in a horrible position here. Alves smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Soul Taker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Nick Alves is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Alves lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
