Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes to the cage accompanied by Tuesday's Gone. Jay Daniels will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Daniels!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels stuffs the takedown attempt from James. James gets slowly back to his feet.
Daniels sizes up James with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

James pushes Daniels up against the cage in a clinch.
James lands with a short shot to the head.
James has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Daniels is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
James is trying to drag Daniels to the mat but Daniels just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Daniels jumps guard but James stands there with Daniels around his waist. Daniels gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

James tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Daniels manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
James gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Daniels counters with a two punch combo.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
James fails with the takedown.

Daniels tries to keep at a distance but James has taken the fight into the clinch.
James is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Daniels pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Daniels is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

James slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Daniels is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on James's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
James looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Daniels with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

James seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Daniels is rocked!
James lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Daniels! More strikes land and this one is all over! James jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
