Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Going Nutz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bertoto gets a double leg takedown into Nutz's guard.

Bertoto passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Nutz tries to improve position but can't.
Bertoto working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Bertoto goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Nutz rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bertoto's guard! Nice work there by Nutz!
Nutz tries to free his leg and advance position but Bertoto is retaining full guard.
Bertoto doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Nutz drops back looking for a leg! Bertoto is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bertoto manages to kick Nutz off! Nutz jumps back into Bertoto's guard.

Nutz postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bertoto is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nutz, into his guard.
Nutz has an active guard here but Bertoto has managed to pass into half guard.
Bertoto thows a huge punch but Nutz dodges it nicely.
Bertoto is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nutz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bertoto.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bertoto content to control rather than advance.

Bertoto is looking for a kimura but Nutz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bertoto to get the leverage.

Nutz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nutz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nutz tries to get out of the position.
Bertoto is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nutz sees it coming and defends easily.
Bertoto throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bertoto stands up and beckons Nutz to join him on the feet.

and Bertoto counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Nutz!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bertoto moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Nutz has worked his arm free - good work by Nutz!
Bertoto tries for a kimura but Nutz is defending well.
Nutz manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bertoto's best efforts.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bertoto is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nutz has his takedown stuffed
and Bertoto holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Bertoto has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Nutz clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Bertoto has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Nutz is defending well but eventually Bertoto manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Nutz has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Valerio Bertoto was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
