Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Funk McTavish! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tycoon Doubles Jobber! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jobber scores with a sloppy right hand. McTavish should have avoided that one. McTavish misses with a body shot.
McTavish shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. McTavish looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. McTavish passes the guard and advances to mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jobber tries to hold on but McTavish pushes him away. McTavish goes for an armbar but Jobber turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Jobber.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jobber wants to stand and escape but instead McTavish has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. McTavish is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jobber is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jobber has escaped and now he's on top! McTavish wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. McTavish is trying to control the position but Jobber postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McTavish lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jobber! McTavish trying to control but Jobber is having none of it. McTavish looking to secure an arm triangle but Jobber defends it well. Jobber tries to hold on but McTavish pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jobber is squirming around, avoiding McTavish's attempts to control the action. McTavish controlling the position easily from mount. Jobber is looking to improve his position but McTavish isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McTavish trying to control but he's not successful this time. McTavish looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. McTavish prevents Jobber from getting the reversal. Jobber sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McTavish is thwarting Jobber's attempts to control the position. Jobber is trying to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Funk McTavish dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
McTavish feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. McTavish showing good wrestling skills to control the position. McTavish slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. McTavish controls the position from side control. McTavish tries to move to full mount but Jobber actually manages to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. McTavish trying to mount his opponent but Jobber defends it. McTavish is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
McTavish is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Jobber actively working from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McTavish not doing much here.
Jobber trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
McTavish looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. McTavish is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jobber is surviving well by controlling McTavish's body position as best he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McTavish prevents Jobber from getting the reversal. Funk McTavish overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jobber wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. McTavish is persistently looking for the submission but Jobber is defending it well.
McTavish looking to break Jobber's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Jobber remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise McTavish will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
That's four minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Jobber's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Jobber trying to control the action but McTavish just sinks the hooks in. Jobber turns into McTavish and is now in his guard.
McTavish working for a triangle but Jobber defends it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McTavish has his foot on Jobber's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jobber works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Funk McTavish dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Jobber lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Jobber throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McTavish takes one on the button. A big right from Jobber misses. McTavish dives in and scores a takedown into Jobber's guard. McTavish tries to free his leg and advance position but Jobber is retaining full guard. McTavish is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jobber is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jobber has escaped and now he's on top! Jobber must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. McTavish working for a triangle but Jobber defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jobber trying to stand up but can't free himself from McTavish's guard. Jobber won't allow McTavish to sweep him here. McTavish keeping moving, preventing Jobber from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jobber trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McTavish pulls Jobber in close to his closed guard and prevents Jobber from doing any damage or advancing position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. McTavish looking for a guillotine here but Jobber defends easily.
Jobber looking to sit in guard and control but McTavish gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McTavish slips nicely into half guard. McTavish is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jobber sees it coming and defends easily. Jobber pushes McTavish off looking to stand but McTavish dives back in and keeps control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McTavish trying to control the action but Jobber is working from the bottom. McTavish is working for a submission of some sort.

And that's the end of the fight! Funk McTavish showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McTavish, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
