Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chandler Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Dye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chandler Cannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Dye!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cannon keeps the fight on the outside.
Dye tries to close the distance and clinch but Cannon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dye lands a high kick!
Dye misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Cannon scores a takedown into full mount!
Cannon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dye is looking to escape.
Dye is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Cannon looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Dye keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cannon looking to control but Dye is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Cannon dominating with strikes here.

Dye tries to lock up and control but Cannon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Cannon landing strikes from the mount.
Dye is trying to escape the mount.
Cannon landing strikes from the mount and Dye is in trouble!

Cannon swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Dye is now in Cannon's guard. A big mistake from Cannon there, giving up the dominant position!

Cannon kicks Dye off and gets to his feet.
Cannon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dye misses with a double jab.

Cannon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Cannon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dye with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Cannon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cannon not doing much here.
Dye tries to roll over but Cannon keeps him under control.

Cannon looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cannon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dye's head.
Cannon tries to pass to full mount but Dye defends it.
Dye trying to hold on to Cannon's head to control him but Cannon postures up.

Cannon escapes and gets back to his feet.

Cannon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dye shoots and misses

and Cannon counters by clinching up.
Cannon is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Dye is defending well.
Cannon is breathing heavily.
Dye misses with the head strike.
Cannon is working for takedown but Dye is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chandler Cannon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cannon is trying to force a seperation but Dye has the dominant position.

Cannon manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cannon keeping moving, preventing Dye from controlling successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cannon is looking for a triangle but Dye pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Dye tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dye has a takedown stuffed.
Chandler Cannon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dye shoots in for a double leg but Cannon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dye stuffs the takedown.
Cannon fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Dye avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Cannon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dye but Dye pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dye moves in looking to clinch but Cannon pushes him off.

Chandler Cannon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cannon takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Dye fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cannon, pushing him back against the cage.

Cannon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dye gets caught flat footed, as Cannon shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Dye wriggles free and stands up.
Dye shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cannon as he jumps to the side.

Dye throws a head kick but Cannon moves out of range.
Dye misses with a low kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cannon lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Dye shoots in for a double leg but Cannon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Dye gets caught napping as Cannon dives in and scores a takedown. Dye manages to retain guard.
Dye wants to get back to his feet but Cannon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Cannon trying to control but Dye is working from the bottom.

Dye looking for a sweep. Not yet Dye, not yet.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Cannon slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Chandler Cannon just wasn't active enough.
Cannon throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dye shoots in for a double leg but Cannon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A right-left combo lands from Cannon.

Cannon clinches up against the cage.

Dye's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cannon fails in his attempt to clinch.

Dye darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Cannon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dye as he avoids it easily.
Dye fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cannon missing with a left hand there. Dye was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Dye closes the distance and clinches up with Cannon, looking for a takedown. Dye pushes Cannon against the cage but Cannon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cannon.
Dye fails with a takedown attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cannon throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dye counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sloppy strikes from Dye. Those never looked like landing.

Cannon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chandler Cannon dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Cannon tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Dye is able to avoid easily.
Cannon has a takedown stuffed.
Dye is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cannon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Dye looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cannon is fending him off so far but Dye persists. Nope, Cannon circles away and we're back to standing.
Cannon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dye.

Cannon scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Cannon is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Cannon trying to pass the guard but Dye defending well.
Cannon is trying to control. Dye wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Chandler Cannon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Dye wants to control but Cannon passes into side.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dye wants to control but Cannon postures up.
Dye wants to get back to his feet.
You can see the frustration on Dye's face as Cannon controls the position.
Dye takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Cannon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dye, who protects the arm well.
Cannon wants to control but Dye is keeping him busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dye tries to improve position but can't.
Dye is not content to let Cannon control the position.
Dye is looking to regain half guard here but Cannon keeps moving and retains side control.

Cannon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dye is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Cannon is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dye knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dye is looking for a sweep.

Cannon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Cannon stands up.

Dye has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Cannon pulls guard successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dye wants to stand but Cannon is controlling his posture from full guard.

Cannon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dye wants to get up but he can't break Cannon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Marcus Dye has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chandler Cannon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dye drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cannon manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dye has Cannon in his guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chandler Cannon showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cannon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
