Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Waddell!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waddell thows a leg kick but Rection checks it
and Rection makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Waddell wants to clinch up but Rection keeps it at a distance.
Rection misses with a low kick as Waddell jumps back.

Waddell looking to score a takedown here. Rection is defending well but Waddell drives through and ends up in Rection's guard.

Rection pulls Waddell in close to prevent any damage.
Rection wants to sweep but no luck.
Rection manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Waddell manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee warns Rection that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Waddell is landing with some decent strikes but Rection is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Rection throws a low kick but it's checked well by Waddell.

Waddell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rection misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A left and a right from Waddell both land. Nice combination.
Waddell just misses with a punch to the body.

Waddell takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rection attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Nice uppercut lands for Waddell. That snapped Rection's head back.

Waddell throws a hook but Rection avoids it easily.

Hugh G Rection is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Waddell lands a nice hook to Rection's body. Rection takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Waddell rushes Rection and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rection tries to stall but Waddell uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Waddell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Rection gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Waddell works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Waddell tries to score with some ground and pound. Rection controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
You can see the frustration on Rection's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Rection lands a really nice looking cross but Waddell seems unphased.

Well Waddell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
