Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hoopdy Doopdy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raulll Marknutt!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doopdy shoots in but no luck this time.
Doopdy tries to bum rush Marknutt with a series of wild strikes but Marknutt uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Doopdy misses with a double jab
and Marknutt counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Marknutt sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Doopdy wants to get back to his feet.
Doopdy tries to get to full guard but Marknutt has control of the leg.
Doopdy is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Marknutt jumps into side control!
Doopdy is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Marknutt is controlling him well.
Marknutt scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Marknutt stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Marknutt feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Doopdy sprawling to the canvas! Doopdy rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Marknutt finish him?!
Doopdy is rocked!
It looks like Hoopdy Doopdy has been cut.
Doopdy is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Doopdy throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Marknutt counters with a double leg. Doopdy bangs his head on the mat and seems to be on queer street here... Marknutt follows up with punches and the ref steps in to end the fight! It was the slam that caused all the problems.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Raulll Marknutt!
