PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Dealer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cole might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Wild Boy (Remix). Dealer has chosen I Run This as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Jack Dealer enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jackson Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Dealer!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dealer shoots in for a takedown but Cole shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dealer is looking to clinch but Cole is avoiding it.

Cole shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dealer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Dealer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Cole is looking to stand up but Dealer won't let him.
Cole controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dealer keeping moving, preventing Cole from controlling successfully.
Cole is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jackson Cole.
Dealer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cole swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Cole. Those never looked like landing.
Cole could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Cole keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Cole fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dealer shoots in looking for a takedown. Cole tries to sprawl out of it but Dealer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cole manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jackson Cole has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Dealer.
Dealer throws a head kick that misses.
No luck for Dealer with that takedown attempt.
Dealer uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cole.

Dealer fails with a takedown attempt.
Cole wants to clinch up but Dealer keeps it at a distance.

Cole throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dealer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cole is in Dealer's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cole drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cole jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cole postures up in Dealer's guard and throws a big left but Dealer blocks it.

Cole decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cole has closed the distance and engaged Dealer in a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Dealer jumps guard but Cole turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Dealer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A chopping leg kick lands by Cole.
Cole tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Cole wants to clinch.

Cole bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Dealer looks gassed!
Cole throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cole is staying tight to Dealer's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Cole throws a strike aimed at the side of Dealer's head but Dealer avoids it well.
Cole trying to control the position but Dealer is working away.

Cole decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dealer to his feet.

Dealer has closed the distance and engaged Cole in a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cole prevents Dealer from breaking the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cole breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dealer misses with a body kick.

Cole shoots in and bounces Dealer off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jackson Cole dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Cole fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dealer to the ground. Cole is now in Dealer's guard.
Dealer seems keen to control Cole's posture.
Cole is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jackson Cole wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Cole shoots in but Dealer avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dealer tries to clinch there but Cole circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dealer.
Dealer is breathing heavily.
Cole slaps away a takedown attempt from Dealer, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Cole shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dealer pinned against the cage. Dealer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jackson Cole is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dealer wants to clinch.

The fight stays on the outside here - Dealer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dealer tries to clinch but Cole moves out of range.
Cole shoots in for a double leg but Dealer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jackson Cole. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cole closes the distance and clinches.
Cole keeps control of Dealer as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Cole stands up from Dealer's guard - Cole perhaps looking for a knockout.
Cole throws a right hand that Dealer ducks under and follows up with a left that Dealer also avoids with ease.

Cole shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Cole wanted to stand there but Dealer had control of the position.
Dealer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cole wants to pass the guard but Dealer is keeping the position.

Dealer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Cole throwing strikes but missing.
Cole has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Dealer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jack Dealer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Dealer misses with a takedown attempt
and Cole counters with a big head kick but Dealer shrugs it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Cole shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Dealer is squirming around, avoiding Cole's attempts to control the action.

Cole is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Dealer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Dealer tries to sprawl but Cole drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Dealer looks like he's trying to stand up.

Cole is working for a kimura but Dealer is defending it quite comfortably.
Cole wants to free his trapped foot but Dealer is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Cole decides to stand and escape the position.

Dealer shoots for a double leg takedown but Cole sprawls well. He's pushed Dealer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dealer circles away from the clinch attempt.

Cole feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cole makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Cole is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dealer's half guard.
Cole seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cole takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Jackson Cole overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cole seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Jack Dealer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jackson Cole is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Cole passes the guard and advances to mount!

Jackson Cole showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Cole has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
