Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josepha Caron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephoune Father (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caron kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sudbury Saturday night. Stephoune Father will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Father darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Caron closes the distance but Father moves to the side
and Father counters with a straight right hand.
Father scores with a nice head shot.

Father scores with a hook.

Caron moves to clinch but Father breaks away
and Father counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Stephoune Father hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Caron takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Father bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Father creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Caron sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Father looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Caron is avoiding damage well.
Father is putting a hurting on Caron here, landing some big shots from side control.
Father misses with the ground and pound.
Father misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Caron misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Caron takes a shot right to the bread basket.

and Father counters with a straight right hand.
Father lands an overhand right.
Caron throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
A chopping leg kick lands by Caron.
Caron tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Caron takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Father clobbers Caron with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Caron with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Father to score with a decent uppercut.
Josepha Caron is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Father just misses with a punch to the body.
Father throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Caron stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Father makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Father has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Father feints a jab promting Caron to slip. Father then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Caron slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Father shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Father was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Father fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Father lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Caron is in a horrible position here. Father smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Caron is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Father cracks Caron with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
