Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Melvin Cronkite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George DeLuca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cronkite's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Croc song!. DeLuca is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Crying like a Bitch. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Melvin Cronkite! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, George DeLuca! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DeLuca waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Cronkite.
Cronkite drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. DeLuca is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Cronkite trying to control from half guard but DeLuca is working away. DeLuca controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Cronkite is working for a kimura but DeLuca is defending it quite comfortably.
DeLuca is looking for a sweep. Cronkite is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Cronkite wants to advance to full mount but DeLuca doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
 That's one minute gone in the round. DeLuca tries to land a sweep but no joy. DeLuca lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.

DeLuca is adopting a defensive guard. Cronkite distracts DeLuca with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Cronkite trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. DeLuca has his hands on Cronkite's head, controlling the position. Cronkite trying to control but DeLuca is working from the bottom.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. DeLuca bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cronkite's guard. Cronkite might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cronkite working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from DeLuca. Cronkite is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. DeLuca throws a strike but Cronkite rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Cronkite wants to control from the top but DeLuca keeps moving. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cronkite is pushing down on DeLuca's leg trying to pass to half guard. DeLuca is fighting to maintain full guard but Cronkite has managed to sneak the leg through. DeLuca won't allow Cronkite to pass to mount.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Cronkite is thwarting DeLuca's attempts to control the position. Cronkite moves into full mount! DeLuca won't be happy about that! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. DeLuca working to try and regain half guard.
Cronkite dominating with strikes here. Cronkite controlling his opponent. Cronkite wants to control the pace but DeLuca is squirming around nicely. Cronkite is trying to control here but DeLuca has managed to regain half guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Cronkite wants to free his trapped foot but DeLuca is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Cronkite is taking a breather. DeLuca says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Cronkite is keen to just control but DeLuca is a slippery customer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cronkite trying to mount his opponent but DeLuca defends it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. DeLuca gets full guard. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Melvin Cronkite dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cronkite drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cronkite jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Cronkite slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Cronkite postures up.

Cronkite got a little sloppy there for a moment and DeLuca has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cronkite has managed to get both his arms back between DeLuca's legs - danger averted. Cronkite wants to pass the guard but DeLuca is keeping the position. DeLuca is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Cronkite trying to control but DeLuca is working from the bottom. Cronkite seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. DeLuca tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Cronkite manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. DeLuca misses with a hook. DeLuca tries to clinch but Cronkite moves out of range. DeLuca tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Cronkite throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around DeLuca's waist but DeLuca gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cronkite off to one side.

 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. DeLuca tries to clinch there but Cronkite circles away.
Cronkite ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Cronkite blocks a jab. Cronkite avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
DeLuca connects with a single shot there. Cronkite shoots for a double leg takedown but DeLuca sprawls well. He's pushed Cronkite's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cronkite shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says DeLuca as he avoids it easily. Cronkite dives in and grabs DeLuca's left leg, looking for a takedown. DeLuca pushes down on Cronkite's head and hops out. Nice shot lands for DeLuca. Cronkite keeps the fight on the outside.

DeLuca manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cronkite manages to get himself to full guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. DeLuca tries to free his leg and advance position but Cronkite is retaining full guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as DeLuca accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. DeLuca throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. DeLuca throwing strikes from guard but Cronkite blocks nicely. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. DeLuca is looking to work some ground and pound but Cronkite has wrist control. Melvin Cronkite is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. DeLuca landing some decent shots from guard.
