Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Dodson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Artie Lange!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Dodson enables Lange to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dodson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Dodson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Dodson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lange can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Artie Lange hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Dodson shoots in looking for a takedown but Lange manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dodson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lange is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Lange shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dodson is trying to defend but Lange finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Dodson is defending against the submission attempts here by Lange.
Lange perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Lange looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dodson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Dodson is looking to control Lange's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dodson avoid being mounted?

Well Lange has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
