Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Leroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ata Mamedov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Leroy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Leroy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ata Mamedov!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leroy stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mamedov.
Leroy lands with a nice body punch.
Mamedov looks for a takedown but Leroy sprawls well.
Leroy lands with a shot to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mamedov.
Mamedov closes the distance and pushes Leroy back into the cage.
Mamedov tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Leroy's elbow.
Leroy is looking to break free of the clinch but Mamedov has double underhooks.
Mamedov is trying to trip Leroy. He has hold of a leg but Leroy is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mamedov persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Mamedov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Leroy has his feet on Mamedov's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Mamedov takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

and Leroy makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Mamedov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mamedov lands in his opponent's guard.
Leroy wants to get back to his feet but Mamedov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Leroy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Leroy tries to get out of the position.

Mamedov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Mamedov prevents Leroy from getting back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Leroy jabs Mamedov to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Mamedov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Leroy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mamedov fails with the takedown
and Leroy counters with a nice uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ata Mamedov will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mamedov ducks under a wild hook from Leroy.
Ata Mamedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mamedov fails to land the takedown.
Mamedov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Leroy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Leroy defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mamedov.

and Leroy counters with a huge right that knocks Mamedov out cold! Leroy is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
