Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eric Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Funke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Funke has chosen never gonna stop as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

24 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Lee!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cody Funke!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee throws a low kick but it's checked well by Funke.
Lee misses with a lunging right hand
and Funke counters with a straight right hand.
Funke slips under a jab.
Funke catches Lee with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Funke uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lee.
Lee throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Funke throws a big shot that misses.
Some wild striking there from Funke.
Lee fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Funke looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big right from Funke misses.
Funke swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A nice combination there by Lee.
Lee cracks Funke with an open hand slap.
Funke thows a left - swing and a miss!
Funke throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Funke looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lee is fending him off so far but Funke persists. Nope, Lee circles away and we're back to standing.
Lee just misses with a punch to the body.
Funke blocks the body kick.
Lee scores with a nice head shot.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee throws out a powerful jab.
The fighters circling - Funke throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Lee uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Funke.
A telegraphed right hand from Funke misses the target.
Funke takes a shot right to the bread basket.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Funke crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lee - the referee stops the clock and Funke gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lee. Funke manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Funke tests Lee's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Eric Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lee scores with a jab. Funke acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Lee digs a good body shot into Funke's ribs.
A right-left combo lands from Lee.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lee throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Funke misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Funke just misses with a punch to the body.
Some wild striking there from Funke.

Funke closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Lee slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Lee scores with a decent looking hook.
Funke just misses with a punch to the body.
Lee digs a good body shot into Funke's ribs.
Lee clobbers Funke with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lee, as that shot connected.
Funke takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lee attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Funke shoots in and drives through. Lee sprawls well.
Eric Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cody Funke.
Funke on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Lee connects with a solid leg kick.
Lee wants to land a leg kick but Funke is out of range.
Funke walks into a jab.
Funke is trying desperately to land a takedown but Lee is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Funke.
That kick from Lee tenderised Funke's leg. Funke is trying to keep his angry face on.

Lee scores with a nice right hand.

Good exchange - Lee coming out on top.
Funke is rocked!
Funke blocks a jab.
Funke tries to bum rush Lee with a series of wild strikes but Lee uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lee lands an overhand right.
Funke is still on wobbly legs! Can Lee finish him?
Lee jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Lee throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A good leg kick by Lee.
Funke takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Lee steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Funke.
Lee swings for the body but Funke moves out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Lee.
Funke moves forwards but Lee connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Funke throws a jab when Lee was well out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Funke ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lee moves away.
Funke looks up at the clock. Bad move! Lee lands a right hand from hell, dropping Funke. Lee pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eric Lee!
Eric Lee retains his welterweight title!
