The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jakort shoots for a takedown but Blanco saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jakort pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Blanco back to the cage. Jakort follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Reynold Blanco has been cut.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jakort lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Blanco has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Blanco and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Jakort throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Blanco was covering up waiting for the punch and Jakort finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jakort got a little sloppy there for a moment and Blanco has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jakort has managed to get both his arms back between Blanco's legs - danger averted.

Blanco escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jakort gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jakort seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Jakort looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Blanco with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jakort winds up and cracks Blanco with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jakort tries to close the distance and clinch but Blanco swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jakort lands a strong strike to the head of Blanco. That's dazed him! Jakort looking to finish here. Blanco is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Jakort lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ralph Jakort decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
