Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jermaine Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pat Elwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Watson comes to the cage accompanied by I Ain't No Killa. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jermaine Watson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pat Elwood! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Elwood misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Elwood misses with a takedown attempt - Watson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Elwood wants to clinch. Elwood misses with a two punch combination.
Watson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Elwood. Elwood has a takedown stuffed. Jermaine Watson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pat Elwood. Watson cracks Elwood with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Pat Elwood has been cut. Elwood with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Watson to score with a decent uppercut. Elwood tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Watson swivels and escapes. Elwood scores a takedown into full mount! Elwood moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Watson has worked his arm free - good work by Watson!
Elwood looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson tries to buck Elwood off but Elwood is having none of it. Elwood tries to advance to mount but Watson denies him. Elwood looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Watson is avoiding damage well.
Elwood wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Watson, who protects the arm well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Watson is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Watson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Elwood working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Watson is looking to regain half guard here but Elwood keeps moving and retains side control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Watson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Pat Elwood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Watson tries to clinch up but Elwood circles away and keeps his distance. Watson throws a one two combo.
Elwood will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Elwood misses with a takedown attempt - Watson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Watson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Watson lands a head shot. Watson stuffs the takedown. Horrible takedown by Watson or perhaps it was just good defense by Elwood which made him look bad. Elwood gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Watson counters with a shoot takedown. Elwood fights it but they end up in guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Watson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Elwood's guard. Elwood wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Elwood controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Elwood actively working from the bottom here. Elwood gets back to full guard.
Elwood is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Watson pushes Elwood off looking to stand but Elwood dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Watson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jermaine Watson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Pat Elwood's cut. That's time! Watson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Elwood fails with the takedown enabling Watson to counter with a crisp jab. Watson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Elwood is rocked! Watson connects with the punch. Elwood is still on wobbly legs! Can Watson finish him? Watson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Elwood looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Watson will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Elwood won't allow Watson to sweep him here. Elwood seems to have recovered his senses. Elwood is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Elwood is breathing heavily. Watson is trying to keep Elwood in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Elwood throwing strikes but missing. Watson working a defensive guard here.
Elwood forces his way into half guard. Watson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Elwood is working away from the top position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Elwood wants to control but Watson is keeping him busy. Watson is trying to control but can't.
Elwood is looking for a kimura but Watson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Elwood to get the leverage. Elwood wants to work for an arm triangle but Watson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Elwood is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Elwood moves nicely into side control. Elwood tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Elwood has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Elwood tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Watson is trying to control Elwood's posture but Elwood avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Watson is trying to improve his position. Watson tries to escape but Elwood is in control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Elwood fails with the takedown and Watson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Pat Elwood will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Pat Elwood's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Elwood shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Watson finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Watson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Elwood sprawls well initially but Watson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Elwood works his way to full guard. Good work. Pat Elwood has got the better of the ground game so far. Elwood has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Watson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Elwood has tightened it up now! Watson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
