Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ed Dalsworth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Grappling Wrestler! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dalsworth shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Wrestler counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Dalsworth is not content to let Wrestler control the position. Wrestler tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dalsworth knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Dalsworth looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dalsworth is trying to get back to full guard. Wrestler throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Wrestler is thwarting Dalsworth's attempts to control the position. Dalsworth looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Wrestler prevents Dalsworth from improving his position. Dalsworth tries to kick Wrestler off but Wrestler keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

and Dalsworth counters with a single leg into guard. Wrestler didn't expect that. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wrestler holds on and takes a little breather. Wrestler keeping full guard, as Dalsworth tries to pass. Dalsworth scoring with some ground and pound. Dalsworth has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dalsworth won't allow Wrestler to sweep him here. Grappling Wrestler has got the better of the ground game so far. Dalsworth wants to stand but Wrestler is controlling his posture from full guard.

Wrestler controls Dalsworth momentarily but Dalsworth frees himself. Wrestler might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dalsworth kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Wrestler keeping moving, preventing Dalsworth from controlling successfully.

Ed Dalsworth has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Dalsworth gets in close and instigates a clinch. The referee is keeping an eye on Dalsworth - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Dalsworth seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Wrestler takes an elbow to the temple. Dalsworth gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dalsworth decides to stand up. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dalsworth is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dalsworth gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Dalsworth shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wrestler as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ed Dalsworth. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wrestler misses with a low kick as Dalsworth jumps back. A left and a right from Wrestler both land. Nice combination. Wrestler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dalsworth circles away quickly and effectively. Dalsworth fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Wrestler has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Grappling Wrestler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wrestler keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Dalsworth tries to clinch but Wrestler moves out of range.
