Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Josu Ander! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Conrado Headbenze! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ander tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Headbenze swivels and escapes. Ander bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Ander in side control lands a decent elbow. Ander scoring with punches and elbows. Headbenze tries to strike but it doesn't land. Ander working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Headbenze wants to control but Ander postures up. Ander lands a nice forearm strike. Headbenze is looking for a sweep. Headbenze on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Headbenze takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ander tries for a kimura but Headbenze is defending well. Headbenze manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Ander wants to get back to full guard. Headbenze seems to have recovered his senses. Ander is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Headbenze pulls his head out easily. Ander is breathing heavily. Headbenze not landing any meaningful shots this time. Headbenze sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ander defending well though. Ander makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ander. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Headbenze working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Headbenze is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Headbenze postures up in Ander's guard and throws a big left but Ander blocks it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ander. Headbenze feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ander looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Ander is working hard here to advance position. Headbenze trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ander has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Headbenze can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Headbenze working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ander looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ander working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Headbenze doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Headbenze manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Headbenze passes easily into side control. Nice work. Headbenze working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ander manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Ander looking for submissions off his back. Ander is looking for a sweep. Headbenze is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Headbenze throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Ander manages to get to full guard.

Headbenze thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ander working for a triangle but Headbenze defends it easily.
Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back. Headbenze wants to control from the top but Ander keeps moving. Ander keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom. Ander wants to sweep but no luck. Ander doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Headbenze missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ander avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ander manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Headbenze manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ander drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ander jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Headbenze lands a decent punch to the body there. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Headbenze can do anything to dispel that myth. Ander slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josu Ander dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Headbenze shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Ander manages to get to full guard.
Headbenze throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ander works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ander looking to hit a scissor sweep but Headbenze is one step ahead there. Ander has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Headbenze can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ander keeping full guard, as Headbenze tries to pass. Headbenze trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ander lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Headbenze! Ander punishing his opponent with strikes. Headbenze is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ander landing strikes from the mount and Headbenze is in trouble! Headbenze is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Ander lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Ander raining down shots from the mount! Ander postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Headbenze bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Ander and the fight is over!
