Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Afonso Caldeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lennon Gazzola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gazzola has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lennon Gazzola!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caldeira lands a body shot.
Gazzola looks gassed!
Caldeira shoots in for a takedown but Gazzola shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Gazzola shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Caldeira tries to roll over but Gazzola keeps him under control.
Caldeira is doing well to control the position and prevent Gazzola from advancing to side control.
Caldeira is looking to improve his position.
Caldeira has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gazzola is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Caldeira is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Afonso Caldeira.
Caldeira misses with a takedown attempt - Gazzola sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Gazzola shoots in for a takedown but Caldeira shows good takedown defense.
Caldeira has taken the fight to the clinch.
Caldeira tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Afonso Caldeira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Caldeira lands a knee to the head.
Gazzola jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Caldeira walks away with a smile on his face. Gazzola gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Caldeira tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gazzola manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Caldeira shoots in for a takedown but Gazzola shows good takedown defense.
Caldeira fails with the takedown.
Caldeira throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Lennon Gazzola has been cut.
Caldeira lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
No joy there for Caldeira, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That kick from Caldeira tenderised Gazzola's leg. Gazzola is trying to keep his angry face on.
Caldeira fails with a takedown attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gazzola shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Caldeira's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Caldeira trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Caldeira wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Gazzola is now in half guard.
Gazzola looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Caldeira with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gazzola lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Caldeira is looking for a sweep. Gazzola is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gazzola is taking a breather. Caldeira says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Gazzola uses his free foot to push down on Caldeira's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Caldeira.
Gazzola prevents Caldeira from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gazzola looking to control and managing it successfully.
Caldeira looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Caldeira is trying to defend against the choke here but Gazzola has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Gazzola Tightens the hold and Caldeira taps out furiously! Gazzola displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Lennon Gazzola!
