Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shogun Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Attling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Attling has chosen Dj Tiesto - Illusion as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Shogun Rua has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shogun Rua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Attling! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Attling avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rua will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Rua really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rua shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Attling missing with punches from the bottom.
Rua wants to work for an arm triangle but Attling is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Attling is trying to stand up here but Rua is controlling him well. Rua is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Rua seems to be looking for submissions.

Attling gets full guard. Rua stands and throws Attling's legs to the side, diving into side control. Attling is trying to buck Rua off. Rua looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Attling is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Attling explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Rua dodges the punch combination from Attling.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rua clinches. Rua breaks from the clinch.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Rua connects with a knee to the head.
Rua gets underhooks to prevent Attling's takedown attempt.

Attling looks gassed! Attling is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rua is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Attling to the mat. Attling regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Attling tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rua advances position into side control! Rua is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Attling is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Rua is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Attling knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Attling is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rua tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Rua tries to move into full mount but can't pass Attling's legs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shogun Rua dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Rua misses with a body kick. Attling slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Attling digs a good hook to Rua's body.

and Rua counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rua. Rua has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Attling is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Rua has Attling pressed against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Attling is trying to push Rua away but Rua has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Rua stops a takedown attempt from Attling.
Attling is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Attling is breathing heavily. Rua has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Attling uses from the top position. Attling keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rua's head. Rua manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Attling manages to get himself to full guard.
Rua drops back looking for a leg! Attling is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Attling manages to kick Rua off! Rua jumps back into Attling's guard. Rua thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Attling is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rua is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Attling manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rua has Attling in his guard. Rua has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Attling can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rua looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Attling lands a couple of decent looking shots. Rua looking for a triangle here. Attling is fighting it but it looks tight! Rua pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Attling is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Shogun Rua!
