Ohta comes to the cage accompanied by Technopolis. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Toru Ohta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pinkynho Romeiro!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ohta scores with the left hand. Romeiro knows he should have avoided that one.

Ohta darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ohta looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Ground and pound from Ohta.
Ohta keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Ohta wants to pass to mount but Romeiro is defending the position.
Ohta frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ohta controlling his opponent.
Ohta's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Ohta looking to ground and pound but Romeiro is blocking nicely.

Ohta goes for an armbar but Romeiro turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Romeiro.
Ohta pulls Romeiro in close to his closed guard and prevents Romeiro from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ohta keeping moving, preventing Romeiro from controlling successfully.
Ohta is adopting a defensive guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ohta displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Romeiro throws out the jab.
Romeiro fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ohta is out of range.
Romeiro tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ohta tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Romeiro was well out of range. Poor timing from Ohta.
Ohta misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Romeiro.
Ohta thows a body shot but no joy.

Ohta gets a takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ohta moves into full mount! Romeiro won't be happy about that!
Ohta takes Romeiro's back.
Ohta biding his time, looking for the opening.
Ohta has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ohta is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Romeiro taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Ohta.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Toru Ohta!
