Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diego Veloso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uwe Kaputtski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Veloso comes to the cage accompanied by Sleep now in the fire. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Uwe Kaputtski!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaputtski rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Veloso moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kaputtski misses with a series of wild punches.
Veloso moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Veloso doesn't manage to clinch there - Kaputtski circles away.
Veloso throws a sloppy head kick and Kaputtski moves out of range easily.

Veloso instigates a clinch.
Veloso will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kaputtski up against the cage.
Veloso seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Veloso lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Veloso using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kaputtski has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Veloso moves into range and clinches up with Kaputtski.
Veloso jumps guard but Kaputtski stands there with Veloso around his waist. Veloso gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Veloso is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kaputtski pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Uwe Kaputtski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Veloso throws a nice looking combination but Kaputtski bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That was a close round but I would say that Diego Veloso will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Horrible takedown by Veloso or perhaps it was just good defense by Kaputtski which made him look bad.

Veloso is stalling here. Kaputtski is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Veloso seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kaputtski has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Veloso looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kaputtski is fending him off so far but Veloso persists. Nope, Kaputtski circles away and we're back to standing.

A decent looking cross lands there for Kaputtski.
Kaputtski misses with a straight left.
Kaputtski misses with a double jab
and Veloso counters with a three punch combo that has Kaputtski backing up. Kaputtski nods at Veloso to acknowledge the strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Veloso tries to bum rush Kaputtski with a series of wild strikes but Kaputtski uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
