Staton comes to the cage accompanied by Puff, The Magic Dragon. Zimmerman has chosen Good the Bad and the Ugly as his entrance music. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zimmerman tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Zimmerman scores with a spinning back kick!
Zimmerman throws a lazy body kick
and Staton makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Zimmerman throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Staton throws a shot from downtown. Zimmerman moves away and avoids it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zimmerman moves in looking to clinch but Staton pushes him off.
Staton connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Zimmerman's hands.

It looks like Levi Zimmerman has been cut.

Zimmerman has Staton up against the cage in a clinch.
Staton is looking to break free of the clinch but Zimmerman has double underhooks.

Staton tries to circle away but Zimmerman has him pinned against the cage.

Zimmerman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Staton paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Zimmerman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Staton pinned against the cage. Staton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Staton shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Zimmerman defends it nicely.
Staton looks to throw the jab but Zimmerman is out of range.

Zimmerman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Staton sprawls well initially but Zimmerman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Zimmerman throws a strike but Staton avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Zimmerman looking to sit in guard and control but Staton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Staton won't allow Zimmerman to sweep him here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Zimmerman has his hands on Staton's head, controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zimmerman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Staton manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Staton fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Zimmerman looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Staton counters with a low kick, right behind Zimmerman 's knee.
Staton throws a hook to the side of Zimmerman's head but Zimmerman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Staton throws a series of punches but Zimmerman moves out of range.
Zimmerman throws a wild body kick that Staton sees coming a mile off.
Staton bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Zimmerman's head.
Zimmerman throws a push kick but Staton slaps the foot to one side.
Zimmerman dives in and grabs Staton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Staton pushes down on Zimmerman's head and hops out.
Zimmerman uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Staton.
Staton just misses with a punch to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jeremy Staton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Levi Zimmerman.
Horrible takedown by Zimmerman or perhaps it was just good defense by Staton which made him look bad.

Zimmerman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Staton, pushing him back against the cage.
Zimmerman lands an elbow inside that Staton shrugs off.

Staton is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Staton feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Zimmerman sprawling to the canvas! Zimmerman rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Staton finish him?!

Zimmerman is rocked!

Levi Zimmerman's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Levi Zimmerman's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
