PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chad Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Reagan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reagan has chosen Bring Back The Biff as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chad Stevenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Reagan!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reagan misses with a wild combination.
Stevenson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reagan is fending him off so far but Stevenson persists. Nope, Reagan circles away and we're back to standing.
Reagan misses with a double jab.
Reagan connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Stevenson's hands.


It looks like Chad Stevenson has been cut.
Reagan scores with a punch to the head.

Stevenson gets a takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Reagan wants to get back to his feet.
Reagan is trying to escape back to his feet but Stevenson uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Stevenson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stevenson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Stevenson trying to control the action but Reagan is working from the bottom.
Reagan wants to get back to his feet but Stevenson is dominant here and he's now got Reagan's back!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Stevenson working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Reagan tries to escape the position.
Stevenson trying to control momentarily.
Reagan tries to roll but Stevenson sticks to his back.
Reagan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stevenson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Reagan trying to get back to his feet but Stevenson is in full control for now.
Stevenson is trying to control but Reagan is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stevenson wants to control the pace but Reagan is squirming around nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stevenson putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Reagan wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Stevenson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Stevenson trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Stevenson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Stevenson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reagan but Reagan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice cross by Reagan.
Chad Stevenson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Reagan tries to clinch up but Stevenson circles away and keeps his distance.
Reagan lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Stevenson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Reagan tries to avoid it but Stevenson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Reagan to the ground. Reagan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Stevenson dodges the punch combination from Reagan.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reagan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Reagan lands with a right hand.
Stevenson misses with a double jab

and Reagan counters with a beautiful punch that sends Stevenson to the canvas!
Reagan throws a strike but Stevenson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Stevenson wants to control from the top but Reagan keeps moving.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reagan can do anything to dispel that myth.
Reagan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Reagan has a closed guard, preventing Stevenson from standing up.
Stevenson stops Reagan from standing up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Chad Stevenson wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Reagan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
No joy there for Reagan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Stevenson wants to clinch up but Reagan keeps it at a distance.

Stevenson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Stevenson uses his free foot to push down on Reagan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Reagan.
Reagan is breathing heavily.
Stevenson trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Stevenson looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Stevenson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Reagan hang on?

Reagan in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Stevenson looking to control and managing it successfully.

Reagan is trying desperately to improve position.
Stevenson looking to ground and pound but Reagan is blocking nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Stevenson scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Stevenson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Reagan is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce Reagan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Reagan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stevenson.
Reagan lands a body shot.
A nice combination there by Reagan.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nice takedown defense from Reagan. No joy for Stevenson on that attempt.

Reagan drops his shoulder and cracks Stevenson with a huge uppercut! Stevenson goes down! Can Reagan finish him?


Stevenson is rocked!


Chad Stevenson's cut is getting worse.
Reagan stands up over Stevenson, holding on to his feet. Reagan throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Stevenson is out cold! Reagan lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Bruce Reagan!
