Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wojtek Svalbard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lyoto Carvalho! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wojtek Svalbard! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Svalbard doesn't manage to clinch there - Carvalho circles away.
Svalbard stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Svalbard wants it to stay on the feet. Svalbard tries to clinch but Carvalho is having none of it. Svalbard tries to clinch but Carvalho moves out of range. Svalbard tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carvalho swats him away and circles back towards the center. Svalbard shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Carvalho is trying to defend but Svalbard finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Svalbard wants to control but Carvalho is keeping him busy. Svalbard misses with a head shot. Carvalho uses the momentum to regain guard. Svalbard controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carvalho is working an open guard so Svalbard takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Carvalho circles away from the clinch attempt.
Svalbard misses with a leg kick. Svalbard with a body punch. A glancing blow. Svalbard blocks a head kick by Carvalho.
Svalbard has managed to clinch.
Svalbard is trying to trip Carvalho. He has hold of a leg but Carvalho is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Svalbard persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Svalbard engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Svalbard trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Svalbard sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Carvalho's guard. Svalbard keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Svalbard works his foot free and advances to mount. Svalbard get's back to his feet. A telegraphed right hand from Svalbard misses the target. A decent looking cross lands there for Svalbard. Svalbard tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Svalbard throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Svalbard is looking to clinch. Svalbard darts in and clinches Carvalho up against the cage. Carvalho tries to break the clinch but Svalbard is controlling the position. Svalbard is trying to break the clinch but Carvalho has him pressed against the cage. Svalbard is trying to force a seperation but Carvalho has the dominant position. Svalbard turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Svalbard stands up. Svalbard throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Carvalho tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Svalbard is in Carvalho's guard. Svalbard looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Carvalho is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Svalbard slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Svalbard trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wojtek Svalbard dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Svalbard dives in and scores a takedown into Carvalho's guard. Svalbard trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Carvalho trying to keep a closed guard but Svalbard is proving a slippery customer.
Svalbard must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Svalbard stands up from Carvalho's guard - Svalbard perhaps looking for a knockout. Svalbard has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Carvalho throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Carvalho tries for a takedown but Svalbard circles away easily and Svalbard counters with a huge left! Carvalho is in big trouble! He's backing up but Svalbard isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Carvalho from any more damage. A dominating finish by Svalbard!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wojtek Svalbard!
