Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Van Rerra!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martins throws a solid leg kick but Rerra takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Martins.
Van Rerra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rerra gets caught napping as Martins dives in and scores a takedown. Rerra manages to retain guard.

The referee asks Martins politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Martins prefers to stall for the moment though.

Martins on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Rerra gets underhooks to prevent Martins's takedown attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Martins has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rerra uses from the top position.
Martins manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rerra can do anything to dispel that myth.

Martins lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Martins stands up from mount. Strange move.

Martins gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Martins jumps into guard, dragging Rerra to the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Martins is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rerra looking to sit in guard and control but Martins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Martins is stalling in the full guard.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Martins has closed the distance and engaged Rerra in a clinch.

Martins has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rerra clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Rerra really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rerra is breathing heavily.
Martins lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Rerra won't enjoy being in this position. Martins looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Rerra is tapping - it's over boys! Martins picks up the submission victory!
