The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assange misses with a double jab.
Assange wants to clinch up but Alves keeps it at a distance.

and Alves counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Alves wants to lay and pray for a moment but Assange keeps working.
Assange has hold of Alves's hands but Alves slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Alves has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
