Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hilo Hatti! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gimpy McWimpy! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McWimpy misses with a low kick as Hatti jumps back. McWimpy keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
McWimpy misses with a few strikes there.
McWimpy has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hatti. McWimpy takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
It looks like Gimpy McWimpy has been cut. McWimpy tries to close the distance and clinch but Hatti swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. McWimpy throws a sloppy head kick and Hatti moves out of range easily. McWimpy swings for the body but Hatti moves out of range.
A head kick misses from Hatti. McWimpy throws out a loose jab but Hatti uses good head movement to avoid it. Hatti throws a quick inside leg kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! An inside leg kick from Hatti misses. McWimpy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hatti pinned against the cage. Hatti gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hatti with a hook. Hatti tries a head kick but it misses.
McWimpy scores with a nice strike. Hatti walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. McWimpy checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
That's one minute gone in the round. McWimpy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hatti swivels and escapes. McWimpy avoids a low kick by using good footwork. McWimpy walks into a stiff left hand from Hatti. McWimpy throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hatti on the side of the head. McWimpy misses the shot to the body. McWimpy on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hatti. Hatti obviously looking to wear him down.
Hatti cracks McWimpy with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hatti throws a leg kick but McWimpy sees it coming and moves out of range. Hatti feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! McWimpy collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Hilo Hatti! After the fight, Hilo Hatti was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
