Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pickle Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pickle Head! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Miller! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Miller shoots for a takedown but Head saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Miller is defended easily by Head. Pickle Head has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Miller. Head throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Head really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Miller shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Head as he jumps to the side. Miller bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Miller throwing strikes but Head manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Head trying to control the action but Miller is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miller is looking for a sweep. Head is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Miller will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Miller wants to get back to his feet but Head drags him back down. Head sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Miller is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The referee asks Head politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Head prefers to stall for the moment though. Miller is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Head asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Head slows the pace down. Head has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Miller takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Head tries to score with some ground and pound. Miller controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Head moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miller can do anything to dispel that myth. Miller wants to control but Head postures up. Head throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Head happy to just control the position for now. Miller really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Head. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Head wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miller keeps working. Head cracks Miller with a big elbow. Head connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Miller some visible discomfort.
Miller tries to buck Head off but Head is having none of it. Head will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Head scores with a couple of short elbows. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Head has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Miller! Head prevents Miller from getting the reversal. Head scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Head looking for a guillotine from mount but Miller is having none of it. Head takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Head has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Miller's face.

Head is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Miller to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Miller shrugs it off. Miller squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Head controlling from the full mount. Head trying to control but Miller is having none of it. Head with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Head avoids the attempt from Miller to control. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Miller is looking to improve his position but Head isn't that keen on the idea. Head lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pickle Head dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Head gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Head is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Head working a defensive guard here.
Miller in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Head is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Pickle Head has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Miller moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Head tries to sprawl but Miller drives through with a takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Head has one foot on Miller's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. A combination from Miller does no damage. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Head!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Miller stalks Head and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Head's face. Head staggers backwards, shaken. Pickle Head is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Miller throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Head was covering up waiting for the punch and Miller finishes the takedown easily into guard. Miller in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Miller pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Head is keeping the position for now. Head preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Miller trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Head escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Miller gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Miller pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Head is keeping the position for now. Miller with a nice head shot there. Head avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Miller won't allow Head to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller working some strikes from top position. Miller throwing strikes from guard but Head blocks nicely. Miller throwing strikes but missing. Miller distracts Head with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Miller loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Miller trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Miller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Head swivels though and keeps the full guard. Miller throws a strike but Head rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Head stopping the sweep attempt from Miller. Head in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Miller utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Head wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving. Pickle Head overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Miller wants to stand but Head is controlling the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Head trying to control the position from guard on top but Miller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Head stopping the sweep attempt from Miller. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Miller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Head rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Miller moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Miller throws a right and a left that both miss. Miller closes the distance and clinches up with Head, looking for a takedown. Miller pushes Head against the cage but Head circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Miller. A combination from Head does no damage. Miller shoots in for a double leg but Head sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Pickle Head has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Miller. Miller shoots in and drives through. Head sprawls well. Head tries to bum rush Miller with a series of wild strikes but Miller uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Head fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Head throws a right hand that Miller ducks under and follows up with a left that Miller also avoids with ease. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Miller shoots in looking for a takedown. Head tries to sprawl out of it but Miller keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Head manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Head lands a nice shot that snaps Miller's head back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Head displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Miller. Head throws a nice looking combination but Miller bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Miller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Head looking to sweep here. Miller is fighting to break Head's control of his arms but Head is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Miller tries to free his leg and advance position but Head is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller throws an elbow that misses. Head uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Miller's guard. Nice move by Head! Miller is pulling down on Head's head. It's preventing any offense from Head, at least for the moment. Head controls from within his opponent's guard. Miller wants to get back to his feet but Head is in a dominant position and won't allow it. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Miller closes the distance and clinches up with Head, looking for a takedown. Miller pushes Head against the cage but Head circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Head tries to clinch there but Miller circles away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Miller darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Head blocking the ground and pound attempt from Miller.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller wants to free his trapped foot but Head is holding on for dear life with his legs. Miller throwing shots but Head is blocking nicely. Miller wants to pass to mount but Head is defending the position. Miller slips a nice elbow through Head's hands, connecting with Head's forehead. Head gets full guard. Head bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Miller's guard. Miller is looking to stand up but Head isn't so interested in that idea. Head trying to control the position from guard on top but Miller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
