Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bolo Nimjang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valor Takishi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valor Takishi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bolo Nimjang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Valor Takishi!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takishi shoots in for a double leg but Nimjang sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Takishi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Nimjang. Nimjang obviously looking to wear him down.
Takishi looks for a takedown but Nimjang sprawls well.
Nimjang lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Nimjang fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Takishi sprawls well initially but Nimjang persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Nimjang is working for an americana but Takishi has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Nimjang was thinking about the submission.

Takishi throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Nimjang escapes and throws Takishi's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Nimjang counters with a nice double leg into side control. Takishi won't be happy with that.
Bolo Nimjang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valor Takishi.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Takishi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nimjang's guard.
Takishi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nimjang swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Takishi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Takishi slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Nimjang.
Takishi is trying to control the action in half guard but Nimjang is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Takishi is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Nimjang goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Takishi gets caught flat footed, as Nimjang shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Nimjang is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Takishi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Takishi has escaped and now he's on top!

Takishi works to advance to full mount. Nimjang defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Takishi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Takishi is breathing heavily.

Takishi has control of Nimjang's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Nimjang regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Nimjang has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Takishi throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Nimjang because Takishi loaded up on that one.
Takishi avoids the attempt from Nimjang to control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Takishi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Nimjang has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Valor Takishi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Takishi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nimjang is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well Nimjang has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
