Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rand al Thor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Simon Adebisi! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adebisi works the jab nicely. al Thor has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Rand al Thor has been cut. Adebisi throws a predictable looking body shot
and al Thor counters with a nice low kick that buckles Adebisi's knee momentarily. al Thor avoids the body shot from Adebisi.
Adebisi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
al Thor tries a low kick but Adebisi avoids it. Adebisi looking to score a takedown here. al Thor is defending well but Adebisi drives through and ends up in al Thor's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Adebisi stops al Thor from standing up. Adebisi throwing strikes but missing. al Thor is adopting a defensive guard. al Thor keeping full guard, as Adebisi tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adebisi pushing down on al Thor's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Adebisi is pressing down on al Thor's thigh, looking to free his foot. al Thor is holding on for now. Adebisi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but al Thor does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Adebisi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and al Thor defends it well. al Thor trying to control here.
Adebisi wants to take a breather but al Thor is having none of it.

Adebisi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. al Thor tries to roll over but Adebisi keeps him under control. Adebisi trying to mount his opponent but al Thor defends it. Adebisi not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. al Thor is staying active underneath Adebisi, who seems content to just control the action from this position. al Thor is looking to escape.
