The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gusman uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Child.
Child swinging wildly here.
Child takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Gusman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Child manages to avoid it.
Gusman connects with a jab.
It looks like Fair Child has been cut.
Gusman tries to clinch but Child moves out of range.
Gusman misses with a low kick.
Child pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Gusman has managed to clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gusman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Child throws a hook but Gusman blocks it.

Gusman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gusman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Child swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Child moves in looking to clinch but Gusman pushes him off.

Fair Child seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Child fails to land with a series of punches.
Child tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Child throws a sloppy body shot
and Gusman counters with a nice uppercut.
Child just misses with a punch to the body.

Child pivots, looking for a leg kick but Gusman is out of range and Child settles back down.
Good leg kick by Gusman there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Child throws an off balance right hand
and Gusman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Child's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gusman passes into half guard.

Gusman is pressing down on Child's thigh, looking to free his foot. Child is holding on for now.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gusman in particular looking to stall.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Child is on top in guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Child throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gusman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Horrible takedown by Gusman or perhaps it was just good defense by Child which made him look bad.
Child takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Child leaves Gusman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Child is defended easily by Gusman.
Child looks for a takedown but Gusman sprawls well.

Gusman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Child circles away quickly and effectively.

A nice leg kick lands there from Child.
Child takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Gusman has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Child finds it's way round the side to connect with Gusman's head.
Gusman walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Child shoots in looking for a takedown but Gusman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Child's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fair Child. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Child cracks Gusman with an open hand slap.
Gusman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Child circles away.

Child swats away the attempt to clinch by Gusman.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gusman takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Gusman throws a leg kick which misses Child's front leg but catches the back leg as Child tries to avoid it.
Child lands with an overhand left.
Child throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gusman sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Gusman tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Child is able to avoid easily.
Gusman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gusman looks up at the clock and then as Child takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Gusman smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Child throws the left hand but Gusman avoids the punch easily.

Gusman connects with a leg kick. Child looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

and Child counters with a series of strikes. Gusman will be more careful next time no doubt.

Gusman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
