Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Ryan! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 32 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesse Hall! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hall scores with a takedown into Ryan's guard. Hall throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hall is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hall pushing down on Ryan's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Hall looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ryan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Hall wants to work for an arm triangle but Ryan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

This has been an exciting period of action! Ground and pound from Hall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ryan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ryan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Hall scoring with strikes to the body and head. Ryan trying to hold on to Hall's head to control him but Hall postures up.
Hall drops an elbow to the side of Ryan's head. Ryan actively working from the bottom here. Hall landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Hall wants to pass to mount but Ryan is defending the position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hall lands a nice short elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hall uses his free foot to push down on Ryan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ryan. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! BOOM! Hall connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Ryan is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hall postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Ryan out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Hall goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jesse Hall! Jesse Hall is the new welterweight champion!
