Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryo Kuma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chuck Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamrock is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Shamrock fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kuma looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kuma scores with a kick to the midsection.
Shamrock throws a shot to the body.
Kuma connects with a high kick.

Shamrock rushes Kuma and presses him up against the cage.
Kuma prevents Shamrock from breaking the clinch.
Shamrock lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kuma backwards.
Shamrock keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kuma's efforts to push away.
Shamrock tries to circle away but Kuma has him pinned against the cage.
Shamrock prevents Kuma from breaking the clinch.
Kuma tries to stall but Shamrock uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Kuma wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Kuma's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kuma.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kuma lands a head kick!
Kuma lands a head kick. Shamrock smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shamrock uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kuma.
Shamrock avoids the head kick by Kuma.
Ryo Kuma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kuma tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Shamrock manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kuma throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shamrock.
Kuma gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Shamrock cracks Kuma with a right hand to the side of the head.
Shamrock connects with a right hand. Kuma shakes it off.


Kuma is rocked!
Shamrock cracks Kuma with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Kuma falls to his knees and Shamrock doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chuck Shamrock!
After winning the bout, Chuck Shamrock thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
