PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yukii Ogata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Elazei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Samuel Elazei was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yukii Ogata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samuel Elazei!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ogata shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Elazei but Elazei pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Elazei closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Ogata swats away the attempt to clinch by Elazei.
Elazei shoots for a takedown but Ogata saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ogata takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Ogata manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Elazei on his heels. He'll look to pass Elazei's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Ogata drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Elazei manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ogata has Elazei in his guard.

Ogata working for a triangle but Elazei defends it easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ogata manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ogata takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Elazei is trying to escape the mount.
Ogata sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Elazei is trying to escape the mount but Ogata keeps good control and instead manages to take Elazei's back.
Ogata trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Elazei doesn't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Elazei is really stuck here.
Ogata biding his time, controlling Elazei.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Yukii Ogata just wasn't active enough.

Elazei looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ogata makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ogata.
Ogata controls Elazei momentarily but Elazei frees himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ogata is looking to sinch up a triangle. Elazei throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Ogata's body to avoid the submission. Ogata has instead reached around Elazei's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Ogata arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Yukii Ogata!
