Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Helmut Doerner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stanley Stuus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doerner comes to the cage accompanied by Balls to the Wall by Accept. Helmut Doerner has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Helmut Doerner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stanley Stuus!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doerner doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Stuus counters with a nice body shot.
Doerner tries for a takedown but Stuus circles away easily
and Stuus counters with an inside leg kick.
Doerner's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Doerner duly obliges.
Good leg kick by Stuus there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Stuus keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Helmut Doerner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Doerner crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Stuus - the referee stops the clock and Doerner gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Stuus. Doerner manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Doerner has his takedown stuffed
and Stuus counters with a nice body kick.
Doerner fails to land with a series of punches.
Helmut Doerner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Doerner tries to bum rush Stuus with a series of wild strikes but Stuus uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Doerner takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Stuus connects with a solid leg kick.
Stuus chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Doerner shoots and misses
and Stuus counters with a stiff right hand.
Stuus with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Doerner gets tackled into the cage by Stuus. Stuus maintains the clinch.
Stuus is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Stuus breaks the clinch.
Doerner shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stuus sprawls well. Stuus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Doerner gets slowly back to his feet.
Doerner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stuus as he avoids it easily.

Doerner closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Stuus quickly recovers to half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Doerner thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Stuus is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Doerner's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Doerner's back!
Doerner grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Doerner is really stuck here.

Doerner is covering up but some of the strikes from Stuus are getting through and doing damage.

Stuus struggling to land strikes to the head as Doerner covers up.
Doerner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Doerner tries to roll but Stuus sticks to his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stuus punishes Doerner with strikes from the back mount.

Stuus has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Doerner has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stuus lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Stuus.
Doerner tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Stuus scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Stuus has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Doerner's face.
Doerner is trying desperately to improve position.
Stuus lands a heavy elbow.
Doerner is squirming around, avoiding Stuus's attempts to control the action.
Doerner tries to hold on but Stuus postures up.

Doerner working to try and regain half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stuus landing punches.
Doerner is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Doerner is working hard here to advance position.
Stuus has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Doerner's face.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Doerner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Stuus is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Doerner to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Doerner shrugs it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stanley Stuus dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Doerner tries for a takedown but Stuus sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Stuus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stuus misses with a body shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Doerner.
Doerner closes the distance and clinches up with Stuus, looking for a takedown. Doerner pushes Stuus against the cage but Stuus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Doerner wants to clinch up but Stuus keeps it at a distance.
Doerner avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Doerner gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Stuus counters with a nice leg kick.
Doerner shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stuus sprawls well. Stuus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Doerner gets slowly back to his feet.

Doerner throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stuus.
Stuus digs a good hook to Doerner's body.
Stuus thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Doerner if he has to take too many more of those.
Doerner looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Doerner shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Stuus counters with a thumping low kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stuus lands a nice shot to the body.
Stuus is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Doerner rather than just go for the knockout.

Stuus fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Doerner sprawls well initially but Stuus persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Stuus takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Doerner wants to get back to full guard.
Doerner is trying to maintain the position but Stuus is very close to passing his half guard.
Doerner tries to roll over but Stuus keeps him under control.

Stuus frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Stuus looking to control but Doerner is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Doerner is looking to get to half guard.

Stuus postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Doerner looks a forlorn figure.
Doerner wants to hold on but Stuus pushes him away.
Stanley Stuus has got the better of the ground game so far.
Doerner working to try and regain half guard.
Stuus looking to finish Doerner with some ground and pound. This is bad for Doerner!

Stuus fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Doerner is rocked!
Stuus putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Oh Doerner is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stuus postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Doerner in real trouble here! The ref calls for Doerner to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
