I think Licha might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to In Bloom. Ripley has chosen The Talented Mr. Ripley - Tu Vuo' Fa l'Americano as his entrance music. Mr Ripley has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ripley misses with the combination.

and Licha counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Mr Ripley has been cut.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Licha.

Licha shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ripley napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Licha working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Licha goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Ripley rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Licha's guard! Nice work there by Ripley!

Licha is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
