Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brett Heart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunner King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King has chosen Raise Hell as his entrance music. Brett Heart has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brett Heart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gunner King! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Heart avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Heart shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. King is trying to defend but Heart finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Heart lands a nice short elbow. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if King can do anything to dispel that myth. Heart is trying to work for a kimura but King is defending well.
Heart is trying to control. King wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Heart throwing shots but King is blocking nicely. King trying to control but Heart postures up.
King really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Heart. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. King avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Heart. Heart is nestled in close to King, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's one minute gone in the round. King looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. King is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Heart scores with a couple of nice shots. Heart is trying to work for a kimura but King is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Heart is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and King defends it well. King looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Heart has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. King wants to control but Heart is keeping busy.
King is controlling Heart's position as best he can from this difficult position. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Heart prevents King from improving his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Heart. King trying to control but Heart postures up.
King desperately trying to maintain half guard. King tries to roll over but Heart keeps him under control. Heart is thwarting King's attempts to control the position.
Gunner King has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. King tries to clinch up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Heart shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches King napping and manages to drive through into side control! King stops Heart from passing to mount. Heart lands a few punches from side control. King takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Heart cracks King with an elbow. That is naaassty. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. King is trying to control Heart's posture but Heart avoids it. Heart with the ground and pound but King regains half guard under the barage of strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brett Heart dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
The fight stays on the outside here - King looks like he's thinking about clinching though. King connects with a looping right hand.
Heart shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Ground and pound from Heart. King trying to control from the bottom.
Heart throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing King to regain full guard.

Heart really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. King might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Heart kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Heart wants to control from the top but King keeps moving. King has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Heart can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Heart throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Heart distracts King with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Heart throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Heart passes King's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Heart winds up and cracks King with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Heart missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. King is trying to control but can't.
Nice strikes from Heart there. Heart seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Heart is working for a kimura but King is defending it quite comfortably.
This has been an exciting period of action! King is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. King is not content to let Heart control the position. King moves into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heart trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Heart trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. King is trying to control the position but Heart postures up. King pulls Heart in close to prevent any damage. Heart passes easily into side control. Nice work. King can't do much from the bottom here. Heart misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Heart throwing strikes but King manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! King wants to control but Heart is keeping him busy. King is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Heart can't do much from the bottom here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. King trying to control the position but Heart is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brett Heart dominated that second round. That's time! Heart's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
King looking to score a takedown here. Heart is defending well but King drives through and ends up in Heart's guard. King lands a couple of elbows. King pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Heart is keeping the position for now. Heart looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Heart trying to keep a closed guard but King is proving a slippery customer.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. King trying to control the position from guard on top but Heart is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Brett Heart has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Heart takes a shot to the body in his stride.
King lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Heart drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Heart working away. Gunner King has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Heart controls the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! King throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

Heart not landing any meaningful shots this time. Heart missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Heart thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed King's head. King is staying active underneath Heart, who seems content to just control the action from this position. King trying to control here.

King wants to control but Heart is keeping busy and won't allow it. Heart throwing shots but King is blocking nicely. Heart thows a huge punch but King dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. King is looking for a sweep. Heart is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Heart is keen to just control but King is a slippery customer. Heart throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Heart sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. King defending well though. King moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. King working for a triangle but Heart defends it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Heart trying to control but King is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Gunner King. I think Heart has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
