Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rob Petterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Calgary Alberta! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alberta tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Petterson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Alberta!
Alberta is looking to clinch but Petterson is avoiding it.
Alberta shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Alberta uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Petterson. Petterson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Alberta is out of range. Petterson tries to score with a low kick but Alberta moves his leg out of the way. Alberta walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Alberta tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Alberta closes the distance and clinches. Alberta pressing his opponent against the cage. Alberta takes a knee to the side of the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Petterson tries to pull guard but Alberta holds him up against the cage and eventually Petterson drops back down to his feet.
Alberta pulls guard successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Petterson trying to control but Alberta is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alberta wants to improve his position but instead Petterson has moved into half guard.
Petterson is looking to take a break and control but Alberta is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Alberta is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alberta is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Petterson pulls his head out easily. Petterson wants to take a breather but Alberta is having none of it. Alberta trying to control from the bottom.
Petterson prevents Alberta from improving his position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Rob Petterson wasn't doing enough on the ground. Alberta throws a shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alberta has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Petterson. Petterson takes a jab right on the kisser.
Petterson checks the leg kick. Alberta takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Petterson throws a head kick that misses. Petterson needs to keep his hands up - Alberta had a free shot at his head there. Alberta takes one to the side of the head.
Alberta connects with a body shot that sends Petterson's belly button to the back. Alberta is looking to clinch but Petterson is avoiding it.
Alberta fails with a takedown attempt. Alberta is looking to clinch. A punch combination from Alberta misses. Petterson swings for the body but Alberta moves out of range.
Petterson gets caught flat footed, as Alberta shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Alberta is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Petterson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Petterson has escaped and now he's on top! Alberta pulls Petterson in close to prevent any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alberta working for submissions but it's allowed Petterson to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Calgary Alberta dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Petterson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Alberta connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Petterson scrambles back to his feet. Petterson misses with a right hand and Alberta counters by clinching up. Alberta has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Petterson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Alberta is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Petterson knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Petterson for a finish. Petterson trying to control but not successfully.

Petterson won't enjoy being in this position. Alberta looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Petterson is tapping - it's over boys! Alberta picks up the submission victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Calgary Alberta! A very excited looking Calgary Alberta rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
